ESWC Prize Money Announced

The ESWC committee have released the total prize money for the 2007. 

With less than a month to go until the Grand Finals which will be held in Paris, Francefrom the 5th to the 8th July, the total prize money for the event has finally been confirmed. 750 international video games champions from 51 countries will gather in the hope of winning a piece of it! However, compared to the last year, the ESWCsees a huge decrease when it comes to the prizes given to the top teams and players.

The 6 main tournaments will be rewarded with prize money as follows:

Counter-Strike 1.6:

1. 40,000$
2. 24,000$
3. 12,000$

Warcraft III TFT:

1. 10,000$
2. 6,000$
3. 3,000$

Quake IV:

1. 10,000$
2. 6,000$
3. 3,000$

Trackmania Nations:

1. 10,000$
2. 6,000$
3. 3,000$

Pro Evolution Soccer 6:

1. 10,000$
2. 6,000$
3. 3,000$

Counter-Strike 1.6 Women:

1. 15,000$
2. 9,000$
3. 4,500$

This leads to a grand total of $180,500 compared to last year's $400,000. There is also no prize money for 4th-8th finishers compared to last year.
